Preliminaries
The Tall Tale preliminaries are held in conjunction with the Downs Arts Council annual meeting the second Saturday of every January* at Downs Memorial Hall. Amateur storytellers come together with their best tall tale story prepared to try to outdo each other to get into the Kansas Storytelling Festival in April. Winners of the Tall Tale preliminaries are chosen by audience vote.
The public is welcome to attend.
